The Leader of the Council & Cabinet Member for Finance & Strategy, Councillor Rob Stewart, will be appearing before the Scrutiny Programme Committee on 24 November for a question and answer session. The committee welcome your ideas for questions.
Councillor Rob Stewart chairs the Cabinet. This is the Council body that is responsible for most day-to day decisions and delivery of Council services, in line with the Council’s overall policies and budget.
Councillor Stewart is responsible for the appointment of all Cabinet Members, who are allocated specific responsibilities. Councillor Stewart’s portfolio of Finance & Strategy includes the following areas of responsibility:
- Finance – Budget Cycle
- Delivery and Performance
- Information & Business Change (including ICT)
- Strategic Estates & Property
- Poverty
- Local Service Board / Community Leadership
- Regional Working / Collaboration
- Lead elements of Sustainable Swansea
The committee will explore the work he has done in this role, looking at priorities, actions, achievements and impact.
Is there anything that you think the committee should ask him? Any suggestions made before 24 November will be looked at by the committee in developing its questioning strategy and the key ones will be put to Councillor Stewart.

The committee meeting will take place on Monday 24 November at 4.30 pm in Committee Room 1 in the Civic Centre, Swansea and the public are welcome to attend.
A summary of each session, including public questions that are asked, and views of the committee are included in a letter to the relevant cabinet member. Both these letters and responses from Cabinet Members are published in future Scrutiny Programme Committee agendas.
This is part of a series of Cabinet Member Question Sessions that will take place over the course of the year. The committee meets every 4 weeks.
