The Board were keen to hear about the current Welsh Assembly consultation exercise looking at the future of Communities First from 2012 onwards and have requested that the document be circulated to the Board by email. Councillors agreed to make their comments directly to the appropriate officer by the deadline of 30th August.
Councillors were please to note that progress had been made with the Action Plan but did ask that the following be considered:
Information on ranking/grading of Communities First areas be forwarded to Board once available; th annual report to Council include performance and to also evidence this with good practice by using case studies; joining the Chairs Forum and the Communities First Ward Councillors meeting to save any duplication; and Look at a way of recognising those people in communities that are providing a valuable contribution.
The Board have scheduled a further update in approximately six months time.
