The ERW Scrutiny Councillor Group to meet in March

Scrutiny Councillors from across the six local authorities will meet on 25 March 2019.   The purpose of the group is to help ensure the best educational outcomes for children in the Education Through Regional Working (ERW) region by supporting effective scrutiny to

  1. support consistent scrutiny across the six councils
  2. share scrutiny good practice
  3. encourage shared scrutiny approaches and avoid the duplication of scrutiny work
  4. provide critical and objective challenge to ERW on topics of interest as required
  5. contribute to the good and effective governance of ERW

Councillors on the 25 March will look at

  • School categorisation and supporting data
  • On the Money? Targeted funding to improve educational outcomes
  • They will also receive updates on the ERW Improvement Programme, the ERW budget and look at the lastest ERW Joint Committee minutes

The Councillor Group will then write a letter to the ERW Joint Committee which will feed back their thoughts and recommendations.
