So, what’s happening in Education Scrutiny?

Swansea Council’s education scrutiny body, the Education Performance Scrutiny Panel, has the role of providing ongoing challenge to schools performance in order to ensure that pupils in Swansea are receiving a high quality education and that it is meeting its objectives to improve schools standards and pupil attainment.

They recently met to discuss their work programme for the coming year. Over the next few months they will have the following meetings:

Thursday 19 December 2019 at 4.00pm

Councillors will look at Additional Learning Needs reform and progress in Swansea.

Thursday 16 January 2020 at 4.00pm

Councillors will meet to discuss the Annual Education Performance Data 2018/19 including performance of Looked After Children.

Thursday 13 February 2019 at 4.00pm

The Panel will look at progress with the 21st Century Schools Programme including Band B developments and will then concentrate on School Transport.

You can find copies of all scrutiny agendas here  (the papers for both meetings will be available at the end of the week prior to the meeting).

These are open meetings and members of the public are welcome to observe from the public gallery.
