Engaging disengaged pupils

At the meeting today (20th Feb) the Children, Young People and Learnng Overview and Scrutiny Board looked at Secondary School leavers who were classified as Not in Education, Employment or Training (NEETs) for the period 2005-2011.

The report noted that significant progress has been made in reducing the levels of young people who are NEET at 16 and 17. As well as having excellent information on the make up of the NEET group Swansea has developed highly effective early identification, tracking and monitoring systems that ensures young people are kept in touch with and offered support at key transition points. This progress has been achieved through effective and close working with partner organisations.
