The Cabinet Member for Anti Poverty, Councillor David Phillips, will be appearing before the Scrutiny Programme Committee on 14 April for a question and answer session.

The committee will explore the work he has done in this role, looking at priorities, actions, achievements and impact. They would welcome your ideas for questions.

The Anti Poverty portfolio includes the following areas of responsibility:

Is there anything that you think the committee should ask him? Any suggestions made before 14 April will be looked at by the committee in developing its questioning strategy and the key ones will be put to Councillor Phillips.

    what support are you providing for the following:
    1 – ensuring people out of work are given the skills to ensure they have the best chance of getting/improving there job prospects thus improving their financial positions
    2 – that people have access locally to the internet to ensure they can get the best onli9ne deals, again reducing their outgoings
    3 – that communities are given support to regenerate/improve their own environment

      Councillor Phillips met with the Committee back in April but we will make sure these points are retained for the next relevant Cabinet Member Q&A.
