Have your say on the Tackling Poverty Strategy

Tackling poverty is one of the Council’s top priorities.

A new scrutiny inquiry has started which is looking at ways in which the Council’s Tackling Poverty Strategy can be improved.

Over the next few months the Tackling Poverty Scrutiny Inquiry Panel will be looking into many aspects of the work of tackling poverty and will look to answer the question ‘How can the Council’s Tackling Poverty Strategy be improved?’

The Panel will hold a number of evidence sessions including:

  • Evidence perspective – To hear about what works and what does not work – 19 September (4pm, Room 1.2.1 Civic Centre)
  • Third sector perspective – To hear from organisations working directly with people experiencing poverty – 26 September (4pm, Committee Room 1 Civic Centre)
  • Wellbeing perspective – To hear from the Integrated Impact Assessment (IIA) Panel members about recommendations from the IIA – 3 October (4pm, Room 1.2.1 Civic Centre)
  • Community perspective – To hear from community organisations working directly with people experiencing poverty – 13 October (4pm, Room 1.2.1 Civic Centre)
  • National perspective – To understand the lessons from anti-poverty work in Wales/Welsh Assembly Inquiry – TBC
  • Partnership perspective – To hear from organisations on PSB/Poverty Forum – TBC
  • Council perspective – To understand how the strategy is being delivered across the Council Directors/Cabinet Members/Heads of Service – TBC
  • Tackling Poverty Unit perspective – To hear from the Tackling Poverty Unit – TBC

The Panel have also put together a survey to hear your views. The survey will run until 28 October 2016. Complete the tackling poverty survey.
