What’s happening with the Service Improvement & Finance Scrutiny Panel

The Service Improvement and Finance Scrutiny Panel is the body of the Council with responsibility for making sure that the Council’s budget, corporate and service improvement arrangements are effective and efficient. Between now and Christmas it will hold three meetings covering a range of topics including:

23 November

  • Corporate Complaints Annual Report
  • New Digital Strategy
  • Quarterly Budget Monitoring Report

12 December

Pre-decision scrutiny of:

  • Parks & Cleansing Commissioning Review

As part of “Sustainable Swansea – Fit for the future” all services within the council are going through the commissioning review process. The purpose is to challenge what the Council does and how it can best deliver services with reduced budgets. Scrutiny is an important part of this process to allow Councillors to challenge and monitor the process.

20 December

  • Recycling and Landfill Annual Performance Monitoring
  • Quarterly Corporate Performance Monitoring Report

Scrutiny meetings are open to the public and you are most welcome to attend. Contact the scrutiny team on 01792 636292 or scrutiny@swansea.gov.uk for more information.
