So what is happening in schools scrutiny?

Swansea Councils education scrutiny body, the Schools Performance Scrutiny Panel, has the role of providing ongoing challenge to schools performance in order to ensure that pupils in Swansea are receiving a high quality education and that it is meeting its objectives to improve schools standards and pupil attainment.

The up-coming meetings for this Panel are:

Thursday 19 November 2018 at 4.00pm

Councillors will have an update on progress with service developments and improvement in accommodation in the Education Other Than At School service (EOTAS).  They will also be updated about progress with the Wellbeing and Behaviour Strategy.

Tuesday 11 December 2018 at 4.00pm

Councillors with look at performance of the Education Improvement Service, the Education Through Regional Working Business Plan and Pupil Deprivation Grant spend to support vulnerable pupils.

Thursday 17 December 2018 at 4.00pm

Pre-decision scrutiny of proposed cabinet report on 20 December for Small Schools Review and School Organisation linked to the Welsh Education Plan.

Thursday 17 January 2019 at 4.00pm

Councillors will look at the annual review of performance and at the educational performance and support for Looked After Children.

Monday 11 February 2019 at 3.00pm

Councillors will look at the Annual Budget report as it related to education matters.
