The ERW Scrutiny Councillor Group to meet in September

Scrutiny Councillors from across the six local authorities will meet on 23 September 2019.   The purpose of the group is to help ensure the best educational outcomes for children in the Education Through Regional Working (ERW) region by supporting effective scrutiny to

  1. support consistent scrutiny across the six councils
  2. share scrutiny good practice
  3. encourage shared scrutiny approaches and avoid the duplication of scrutiny work
  4. provide critical and objective challenge to ERW on topics of interest as required
  5. contribute to the good and effective governance of ERW

Councillors on the 23 September will

  • Speak to the Lead Chief Executive for ERW about progress with the reform programme, the emerging governance structure and scheme of delegation along with the progress being made with the new curriculum roll out
  • Meet with the ERW Lead for Digital and Learning Systems
  • Meet with the ERW Lead for Health and Wellbeing

The Councillor Group will then write a letter to the Chair of the ERW Joint Committee which will feed back their thoughts and recommendations.
A copy of the Agenda will be available on the ERW website two weeks prior to the meeting.
